About TheGoodFilter
We built the filter layer that was missing from online shopping.
Why We Built This
Shopping for values-aligned products on Amazon or any major retailer is harder than it should be. You can search "organic dog treats" and get thousands of results β but you have no easy way to confirm which ones actually hold USDA Organic certification, which were made in the USA, and which use BPA-free packaging.
TheGoodFilter does the research once, verifies it rigorously, and presents only products that meet the standards behind each filter.
How It Works
Every product on TheGoodFilter has been evaluated against the certification databases and regulatory standards that define each of our eight filters. We don't take brand claims at face value β we cross-reference government databases, third-party certification registries, and official product specifications.
Each product receives a confidence score between 0 and 1 for each filter. Only products scoring 0.70 or above appear with a given tag β and for sensitive categories like Pet Safe and BPA-Free on food-contact materials, the threshold is 0.80.
When you click through and buy, we earn a small affiliate commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
We Are Independent
TheGoodFilter is not affiliated with any brand, certification body, retailer, or trade association. We don't accept payment to feature products, we don't sell advertising, and we don't let affiliate relationships influence our filter decisions. A product either meets the standard or it doesn't.

Reporting Errors
Our verification is thorough but not infallible. If you find a product displaying a tag it shouldn't carry, please let us know. We investigate all reports within 48 hours.
